Though music knows no boundaries, performers who sing in a language other than English come to Hungary less frequently. So it is high time we heard what rock and roll feels like in French, and three bands will be happy to oblige at Akvárium Klub. Founded in 2012, KIZ was formed to do just that: to perform songs in French. The electropop duo released its first album in 2017. Recently they gave 200 concerts in France and elsewhere, before returning to the studio for a new album that is due to be out in March.
Anoraak, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ, made his debut in 2008. Since then he has made remixes for such performers as Neon Indian, Mika, College, Metronomy and Junkie XL. His most recent project is not to be missed by lovers of disco.
Kid Francescoli owes most of his inspirations to the city of Marseille. “It has everything needed for the kind of slightly melancholy, Latin-infused dance music I love.” He made a name in France in 2013, with his first album, With Julia. He has written music for the advertisements of such luxury brands as Lanvin, Lacoste, Lancôme and Chanel. His latest LP, Lovers, came out in January 2020.

These concerts of the Budapest Spring Festival are presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint program with Akvárium Klub.
